Play at hour house ...
Thanks for your interest in the All Soul Acoustic Coffeehouse, which was founded by Anitra Lavanhar and has been presenting concerts in Tulsa since November, 2001. Our series features nationally known singer-songwriters performing contemporary acoustic music in a variety of styles; see our list of past performers to get an idea of the music we present. Many of our concerts also feature local or regional opening acts, so if your sound might fit with our style, we'd love to hear from you.
The best way to contact us is by e-mail and sending a CD with promotional information to our booking agent:

Because we only do 9 shows a year, we have a long list of artists we'd like to book here and unfortunately we can't bring in everyone who approaches us. If you are looking for other similar venues in the region, contact us and we can send a list. Our headliners are usually nationally touring acts of some prominence. Our openers are usually local or regional acts. We try to reply to messages in a timely manner, but the booking is done on volunteer time working out of our homes, so if you don't hear back from us feel free to write again and prod us a bit! We book shows for once a month from September through May, and our hall is typically available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. We like to have the entire series booked by early August so that we can promote the series as a whole. Our ticket prices are usually $15.00, or $13.00 for students/seniors. We do offer a Season Ticket which allows the holder to get a reserved seat for the show.
Eliza Gilkyson & Band, All Soul Acoustic Coffeehouse, December 2004
Each concert takes place in Emerson Hall at All Souls Unitarian Church. The venue can be set up to hold a maximum of 250 seats, depending on the day of the week and the potential draw of the performer. Our usual set up has 9 small round tables up front and chairs in rows to the rear. To get over 200 seats, we use chairs only with no tables. We offer baked goods and beverages for sale during the shows, which adds to our "coffeehouse" ambience. It is also a smoke-free building. The hall has an ample-sized, raised stage with a very basic lighting sytsem. We use our own excellent sound system run professionally for us by audio engineer James Johnson. Set lengths are usually 30 minutes for an opening act, a 15-minute intermission, and the headliner plays for 75-90 minutes. We can also do an "evening with" performance with no opener and the artist doing two 60-minute sets, usually reserved for prominent performers. We have a very attentive, listening audience which knows good music and supports it well.
During the shows, performers are welcome to sell their merchandise with no fee; we have a regular crew of volunteers who can help to sell items if needed.
Thanks for looking, and we hope to hear from you soon!
